Rocky Women’s Golf Takes Seventh in the Music City Classic

OLD HICKORY, Tenn.- The Battlin' Bears battled to a seventh-place finish at Hermitage Golf Course in Tennessee, led by Valentina Zuleta's top-10 finish.

How it Happened

Valentina Zuleta led Rocky, finishing tied for sixth overall after shooting an eight-over-par 224 (74-74-76). Rocky's other three scorers finished just a couple of strokes apart: Tyla Potgieter finished 23-over par 239 (79,83,77), Grace Metcalf shot 25-over-par 241 (83,78,80), and Isabella Downing put together a strong third round to finish 26-over-par 242 (79,89,74). Kadence Fischer rounded out the Battlin' Bear competitors, shooting 38-over-par 254 (84,89,81).

The Rocky women placed seventh as a team, finishing 82-over-par 946 (315-324-307). No. 2 ranked Keiser University was the top finishing team, shooting 11-over-par 875, outperforming the next-best placers by 35 strokes.

Rocky men's and women's golf will travel to Lewiston, Idaho, to compete in the Warrior Invite, the final regular-season competition before the conference championship meet.
