BILLINGS, Mont.- The Rocky women opened their 2024 campaign with a 2-0 victory over Doane at home on Thursday evening.
How it Happened
Senior midfielder
Mila Allison scored the first goal of the season for the Battlin' Bears in the first period after floating a shot over the Doane goalie's head and off the crossbar to give the Battlin' Bears a 1-0 lead early.
Mya Maack gave the Rocky women an insurance goal in the 65th minute after
Emma Lensing found Maack across the middle of the field to put Rocky up 2-0, which would be all the scoring output the Battlin' Bears would need to secure their first victory of the season.
Hannah Trumbull turned in a clean sheet in her first start of the season, saving all five shots she faced on the evening.
The Battlin' Bears outshot the Tigers 16-10, dialing up eight shots each half to put consistent pressure on the opposing defense for their victory.
