Rocky Men’s Soccer Falls to No. 2 Dalton State College 2-1

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.- The Battlin' Bears went head to head with the No. 2 ranked team in the NAIA, Dalton State College, ending in a narrow 2-1 defeat. 

How it Happened
The Battlin' Bears had the upper hand in the first half and were the first to get on the board, thanks to their leading scorer in each of the past two seasons, Igor Soares, in the 24th minute. Both teams tied with three shots a piece in the first half, with the Roadrunners getting just one on goal through the first 45 minutes. 

Dalton State found their opportunities in the second half, outshooting Rocky 7-3 in the final 45 minutes. Their increased opportunities turned into a game-tying goal in the 47th minute by Leonardo Seixas and, eventually, a game-winning goal in the 76th minute by Mizuki Saika. Two of Rocky's three second-half shots were on goal but were saved by goalie Nicolas Leite. 

Paul Randello led Rocky with three shot attempts in the loss. Nolan Finch, Igor Soares, and Espoir Mayele each had one shot.
