Rocky Men’s Soccer Drops 1-0 Slugfest Against Georgia Gwinnett

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.- The Battlin' Bears could not find the net on the offensive end, falling to Georgia Gwinnett 1-0 in Georgia on Monday morning. 

How it Happened
The Battlin' Bears were limited on their offensive opportunities throughout Monday's match, not making a shot attempt until the 75th minute. Despite being outshot 14-1 on the day, Rocky's defense continued to hold strong through most of the match until a free kick opportunity turned into a game-winning goal in the 56th minute by Hugo Luengo of the Grizzlies. 

Goalie Stefan Schenk saved five of the seven shots he faced. Defender Paul Katende made an excellent effort in the 82nd minute to jump in front of an open goal to block a Grizzly shot to keep the score at 1-0. Kayne White made Rocky's lone shot on goal in the match, which Georgia Gwinnett goalkeeper Dagoberto Romero saved.
