Rocky Women’s Soccer Draws with Carroll College 1-1

HELENA, Mont.- A second-half shutout preserved a draw to open up conference play for Rocky Women's Soccer. 

How it Happened
Carroll College got on the board first in the 14th minute, thanks to a goal from Jaymee Sheridan. The Battlin' Bear defense locked in for the remainder of the half, allowing just one more shot attempt until the break. 

Emma Lensing tied the game up in the 37th minute of the first half after Morgan Hayes fired a crossing pass from the corner that went just over the hands of the Carroll goalkeeper, finding Lensing, who knocked in her third goal of the season. Overall, the Battlin' Bears outshot the Fighting Saints 12-3 in the first half. 

Neither team found the net in the second half. Carroll evened out the shot discrepancy, outshooting Rocky 8-3 in the second half. Goalie Hannah Trumbull was integral in holding the draw intact, saving all three shots she faced in the second half. 

Along with her goal, Emma Lensing led the game with six shots and three shots on goal. Morgan Maack also put two shots on goal.
