Game Notes

Bounce Back
The Battlin' Bears dropped both home games this past week in four sets to #15 University of Providence and MSU-Northern as they look to get back into the win column this weekend.

Fierce Frontier
According to Massey Ratings, the Frontier Conference is the highest overall strength conference in the NAIA this season and is No. 1 in Power Rating. Only two programs have won two of their first three conference matchups, proving anyone can come out victorious on any night.

DPOY
Senior Brooke Ark was in her dominant form despite the losses this past week, tallying 65 total digs in each of the two matches. She has five matches this season with at least 30 digs and leads the Frontier in total digs with 354.

Scouting the Bulldogs
Montana Western was picked as the Frontier Conference Preseason favorites for the 2024 season and has backed up the preseason hype to this point. Their 9-4 start includes five teams in the top 25 or receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches Poll. Senior middle blocker Danyel Martin has been a key to the Bulldogs' success, ranking second in blocks per set with 1.27 thus far, and has been named the NAIA Defender of the Week once already this season.

Scouting the Fighting Saints
After a disappointing sixth-place finish in 2023, the Fighting Saints are back, healthy, and at full strength. Carroll has already doubled their win total from a season as they're off to an 11-3 start. Senior libero Julia Carr leads the Frontier Conference, averaging 6.75 digs per set, while former All-Conference honoree Hannah Schweikert ranks third in the Frontier, averaging 9.58 assists per set.
