Rocky Women’s Soccer Falls 2-1 to #12 College of Idaho

BILLINGS, Mont.- The Rocky women shut the No. 12-ranked Yotes out for the final 84 minutes of play, but two early goals from College of Idaho were enough as Rocky fell 2-1 on Wendy's Field on Friday.

How it Happened

College of Idaho struck quickly to open the contest, as Natasja Davis scored twice in the first five minutes of play. However, the Battlin' Bears settled in, keeping the Yotes in check for the remainder of the match thanks to six saves from goalie Hannah Trumbull

Rocky got within one in the 51st minute after a Charlize Davis corner kick found the head of teammate Sana Bath, who redirected the kick to Mya Maack, who scored her second goal of the season. While Rocky had other chances in the final 30 minutes, none would fall, and No. 12 College of Idaho would remain undefeated.

Emma Lensing put pressure on the Yotes all afternoon, finishing with six shot attempts, two of which were on goal, to lead all players. Mya Maack and Mila Allison tallied three a piece.

For College of Idaho, Natasja Davis totaled five shots on the day, including her two early goals. Kaeden Hansen and Ava Poyser each added an assist, and goalie Alivia Brenchley finished with three saves.

Shot totals were high for both teams, as the Yotes narrowly outshot Rocky 19-16 on the afternoon.
