Rocky Men’s Soccer Drops Defensive Battle With Eastern Oregon 1-0

BILLINGS, Mont.- The Rocky men fell 1-0 in a match that featured only six total shots on goal on Wendy's Field Sunday afternoon. 

How it Happened
Both teams had limited opportunities on offense, as Rocky narrowly outshot the Mountaineers 4-3 in the first 45 minutes of play. Freshman Anton Wilms drew the start in goal, saving the only shot he faced in the first half. 

Eastern Oregon broke through in their only other shot on goal in the match. After the Battlin' Bears cleared Manuel Rodriguez's corner kick, the Mountaineers sent the ball right back into the box, where Daniel Kropf found the ball behind the Rocky defense and secured the game-winning goal in the 66th minute. Rocky put two more shots on goal in the final twenty minutes, but Eastern Oregon held to snap Rocky's two-game win streak. 

Despite the loss, Rocky's defense impressed throughout the afternoon, holding Eastern Oregon to just two shots on goal and seven shots total. 

Angel Mange totaled a game-high four shots on the day. 

Anthony Lemus totaled four saves on the afternoon for the Mountaineers, before being relieved for the final four minutes of play for Sebastian Guillen, who did not face a shot.
