Last Time Out

The Battlin' Bears suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season after defeats to University of Providence and No-11 (Now No. 9)-ranked Montana Tech.

In a weekend of offensive setbacks, Colton Spencer was able to provide a bright spot, scoring 13 points a game off the bench on good efficiency. In the loss at Montana Tech, Carter McCoy tallied his fourth double-double of the season, grabbing 13 rebounds and adding 11 points while also swiping three steals.

An uncharacteristic weekend for the Rocky men saw them suffer their fourth and fifth losses of the season, including just their second defeat on the road.

Game Notes

Time to Bounce Back
The Battlin' Bears will host two games this weekend in the Fortin Education Center, looking to work past a pair of losses last week as they meet the midway point of the conference schedule.

Crash the Glass
The Battlin' Bears continue to lean on their rebounding ability to limit opposing possessions and secure second-chance points, as their 10.1 offensive rebounds and rebounding margin of 3.7 in conference play both rank second in the conference. Offensively, Carter McCoy has been excellent on the glass, grabbing 3.0 offensive rebounds a game in conference play, leading the Frontier Conference.

Active Hands
The Rocky men have been active defensively, forcing 11.1 turnovers per game in conference play. Carter McCoy and Royce Robinson have been key players in this activity, as McCoy averages 1.9 steals per game (T-2nd in the Frontier), while Robinson averages 1.4 steals per game (4th in the Frontier) in conference play.

Scouting the Lights
MSU-Northern will come to the Fortin Education Center hungry for their first conference victory, carrying a seven-game losing streak into Thursday's contest. Jack Reardon has led the Lights offensively, scoring 10.4 points per game in conference play, including a 20-point performance in a narrow loss to Montana Western this past Saturday.

Scouting the Saints
After an 0-3 start to conference play, Carroll College has won three of their past four games, averaging 87.3 points per game in their three conference victories. Their offensive resurgence has been led by redshirt freshman Isaiah Crane, who is averaging 18.9 points per game in conference play and has six games with 20 or more points this season. Crane leads an offense that ranks first in the Frontier Conference with 78.6 points per game through the first seven conference matchups.
