Rocky Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets to the No. 3-Ranked Argos

GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The Battlin' Bears fell in their first of two road matchups this weekend, losing in three sets to the third-ranked University of Providence. 

How It Happened
The Argos commanded the first set, taking advantage of seven Battlin' Bear attack errors, while totaling a hitting percentage of .324 to win 25-8. 

Rocky bounced back in the second set, as a kill from Sadie Meier gave the Battlin' Bears a 12-10 lead. The Argos would rally for four consecutive points to take a 15-13 lead, a lead they would not give up, eventually finishing the set on an 8-1 run to take the set 25-17. 

The Argos would continue their momentum into the third set, jumping out to a 6-1 lead early. The Battlin' Bears would respond with a 5-1 run of their own, thanks to three kills from Josie West, to trim their deficit. Sadie Meier would pick up the momentum with three kills on her own, but the Argos would maintain a slim lead. After Josie West tallied another kill to tie the match at 16-16, but again, Providence would put together a late-set run, finishing the set on a 7-1 run to take the set, 25-18, and the match in three sets. 

Notable Statistics
Sadie Meier led the Battlin' Bears with a game-high ten kills on the evening. Lindsay Lawrence totaled 12 digs, and Meredith Marsh finished with 13 assists.
