Rocky Women’s Soccer Blows Past Providence 5-1

GREAT FALLS, Mont.- Rocky Women's Soccer turned in their second consecutive match with five goals scored, as they defeated the University of Providence on the road 5-1 on Saturday afternoon. 

Emma Lensing and Charlize Davis each scored two goals apiece in the victory, while Mia Daskalovska scored her first collegiate goal. 

How it Happened
Emma Lesning kicked off the scoring for the Battlin' Bears in the 25th minute, after an initial shot by Lensing was stuffed by the Argos keeper, the senior stayed with the play and took advantage of the misplaced goalie to score her tenth goal of the season. 

Just a minute later, the Battlin' Bears would double their lead, as Emma Lensing would instead dish off to teammate Mia Daskalovska, who was streaking into the box for a soft touch into the goal to extend Rocky's lead to 2-0, which would hold through halftime. 

Providence would be the first to strike in the second half, as a free kick would deflect off the Battlin' Bear defense and find the foot of Peyton Schmauch, to cut Rocky's lead to just one goal. 

Just over a minute later, Emma Lensing would set Charlize Davis up again, as Lensing dashed past the Argo defenders, drawing the keeper close to her before crossing the ball for Davis, who tapped the ball into the net past an Argo defender to grow Rocky's lead to 3-1. 

Charlize Davis would take it herself in the 72nd minute, splitting a pair of Argo defenders on her way into the box, before taking a sharp shot that deflected off the hand of the goalkeeper and into the net

Rocky's final goal would come from a free kick by Georgia Dean, who looped a pass into the penalty box, finding the head of Emma Lensing, who recorded her second goal of the contest and her 11th of the season to seal a 5-1 win over the University of Providence. 

The Battlin' Bears outshot the Argos 23-11 on the day, putting a staggering 16 shots on goal.
