Rocky Women’s Soccer Stumbles Against Southern Oregon; Falls 3-0 at Home

BILLINGS, Mont.- Rocky Women's Soccer suffered its first conference loss on Thursday after three second-half goals from the Raiders.  

The Battlin' Bears fall to 2-1-1 in conference play and 4-2-1 overall after their first home loss of the season. 

How it Happened
The first half was a tightly contested match, with no scoring, and Rocky narrowly outshooting Southern Oregon 4-3. 

The Raiders grabbed the first score of the game in the 58th minute, as Abby McKean fired a shot from 25 yards back that struck the top post and went in. From then on, SOU controlled the match, cashing in on a penalty kick in the 72nd minute, then another insurance goal in the 84th minute to cruise to the victory over the Battlin' Bears. 

Overall, the Battlin' Bears outshot Southern Oregon 13-11, but put just four shots on goal compared to the Raiders' nine. 

Charlize Davis fired a game-high five shots, while Emma Lensing added four. Matea Vernon tallied five safes in the loss.
