Rocky Women’s Soccer Clinches Tournament Berth with 6-0 Win on Senior Day

BILLINGS, Mont.- Rocky Women's Soccer continued their torrid pace on Senior Day, as following their 6-0 win, they have outscored their opponents 21-2 during their four-game win streak.

Six different Battlin' Bears scored goals in the victory, while they held the Knights to just one second-half shot attempt in the win in their home finale. The victory clinched Rocky's berth in the CCC Tournament with two regular-season games remaining.

How it Happened

Just minutes after being honored as one of six seniors in their final home game, Emma Lensing got the Battlin' Bears on the board, as Charlize Davis made a sharp line into the penalty box to draw the keeper in, before dishing to Lensing, who finished the goal to give Rocky a 1-0 lead just over a minute into the contest.

Davis added another assist just nine minutes later, this time finding freshman Mia Daskalovska for her third goal in the past two games. Davis got a goal of her own in the 28th minute, this time coming from Emma Lensing

Mya Maack and Bailey Wanberg each contributed second half goals to grow Rocky's lead further, before the highlight of the afternoon came from Matea Vernon, who punted a ball from her own goal, using the Billings breeze to her back, that bounced inside of Knights' territory and took a pair of high bounces that eluded the defense and rolled into the opposite net to give Rocky their sixth goal of the day and ultimately the victory at home.

The Battlin' Bears outshot Warner Pacific 16-5 on the afternoon, including an impressive 12 shots on goal. Goalie Matea Vernon saved all four shots she faced on the afternoon, turning in her sixth clean sheet of the season.
