Rocky Men’s Soccer Finishes With a 2-2 Draw Against College of Idaho

BILLINGS, Mont.- A physical matchup on Herb Klindt Field ended with a 2-2 draw for the Battlin' Bears against College of Idaho. 

How It Happened
The Yotes wasted no time cracking into the score column, as Brian Ramirez sent a crossing pass from the corner, finding Pierre Fabre, who collected the ball and fired a shot off the hands of Anton Wilms to grab an early 1-0 lead. 

Freshman David Russell would convert Rocky's first penalty kick attempt of the season, after Paul Katende was fouled attempting to collect a throw-in just inside the box. Russell would utilize a stutter step and fire a shot to the left of the keeper, totaling his eighth goal of the season in the 38th minute to tie the match at 1-1. 

The Battlin' Bears would grab a one-goal lead in the 59th minute, as Cody Bennett passed up a shot attempt to make the extra pass to Lorenzo Klamler, who snuck his shot past the Yotes keeper and into the net for his seventh goal of the season. 

College of Idaho would convert the equalizing goal in the 77th minute, as Pierra Fabre would send a free kick into the box, finding the head of teammate Chris Slater to knot the match at 2-2. 

Both teams had scoring opportunities in the final 13 minutes, but ultimately, the match ended in a back-and-forth 2-2 draw. 

Rocky outshot the Yotes 18-7 on the evening, but put just six shots on frame compared to College of Idaho's four. The Battlin' Bears also tallied seven corner kicks compared to one from the Yotes.
