Rocky Men’s Soccer Posts Shutout in 1-0 Win Over Bushnell University

EUGENE, Ore.- Rocky Men's Soccer completed a six-point weekend to conclude the regular season, blanking Bushnell 1-0 on Saturday evening. 

Fynn Sweeting scored the lone goal in the contest in the 37th minute to secure the victory. Defensively, the Battlin' Bears allowed just one shot attempt through the first 80 minutes of the contest. 

How It Happened
Fynn Sweeting scored the game-winner in the 37th minute, dribbling through the middle of the defense, firing a shot from outside of the box, deflecting off of a Bushnell defender, and past the goalkeeper for his sixth goal of the season and his third of the weekend. 

Defensively, the Battlin' Bears held firm throughout, as they only allowed one Beacon shot attempt through the first 80 minutes of the contest. While Bushnell had opportunities throughout the final ten minutes, goalie Biruk Paulos-Negatu saved both shots he faced as the Rocky men held on for their sixth conference victory and concluded the regular season with just one conference loss, which came in their conference opener 43 days ago. 

Rocky outshot Bushnell eight to four and held the Beacons without a corner kick. Rocky's four shots on goal came from four different Battlin' Bears. 

Redshirt freshman Biruk Paulos-Negatu saved both shots he faced, securing his third clean sheet of the season.
