Dean’s Four-Goal Performance Leads Rocky Women’s Soccer to 4-3 Road Victory Over Bushnell

EUGENE, Ore.- One of the conference's top passers this season took the scoring into her own hands, as sophomore Georgia Dean scored four goals in Rocky's 4-3 win over Bushnell to conclude the regular season.

Dean's four goals were the most in a single game by a Battlin' Bear since exactly six years ago to the day, when Lauryn Gamache scored five goals against Northwest University.

How it Happened

Bushnell scored first in the contest just ten minutes into the match, taking an early 1-0 lead. Georgia Dean's first goal came just 13 minutes later, as Charlize Davis skated a pass across the box to find the feet of Dean, who fired the ball into the net to tie the match at 1-1.

Less than a minute later, Bushnell would take the lead back with a header that cleared the Battlin' Bear defense.

Georgia Dean would earn the first of her two penalty kick opportunities in the 38th minute, after Emma Lensing was fouled tracking down a crosser that went long. Dean would fire a low shot to the right of the goalkeeper for her third PK goal of the season.

The sophomore added her third goal with 90 seconds remaining in the half by way of a free kick, which cleared the wall in front of her and tucked into the top-left corner of the net as the Battlin' Bears took the 3-2 lead into halftime.

Charlize Davis set up Georgia Dean's second penalty kick of the contest, after she broke free of the Bushnell defense and was fouled from behind in the box. Dean used misdirection to pull the Beacon keeper to the left before firing a shot down the middle of the goal for her fourth goal of the contest.

While Bushnell would cut their deficit to one in the 59th minute, Rocky's defense would hold strong for their sixth consecutive victory to conclude the regular season schedule.

The Battlin' Bears outshot Bushnell 15-8, but held just a slight advantage in shots on goal, 7-6.
