Rocky Men’s XC Wins the Frontier Conference Championship; Women Place Third

BILLINGS, Mont.- Rocky Men's Cross Country earned its second Frontier Conference Championship in program history on Friday at Amend Park, with the Battlin' Bear women finishing in third place. 

Rocky Men Earn a Conference Title

The sixth-ranked Battlin' Bear men had high expectations heading into Friday's Frontier Conference Championships, and they delivered. Sophomore John Spinti stood out for Rocky, battling with the lead pack throughout to place second overall with a time of 24:51.2. Corbyn Svec followed in fourth place with a time of 25:03.9, with Justin Glass finishing seventh with a time of 25:20.0. Matthew Conrad and Zachary Zwiesler rounded out the Rocky scorers in 12th and 13th place, with times of 25:42.5 and 25:43.7, respectively. 

Finishing out Rocky's competitors on Friday were Caleb Tomac (16th; 26:02.5), Ashtyn Rask (28th; 26:44.0), Henry Cooke (62nd; 28:16.1), Connor Chase (65th; 28:23.7), Joseph Orndorff (70th; 28:52.70), Eniah Boseman (75th; 29:21.6), and Garrett Sedlock (79th; 29:26.6). 

The Rocky men totaled 38 team points, defeating the runner-up and defending conference champions by 12 points. All five of the Battlin' Bears earned All-Conference honors. 

With their conference title on Friday, the Battlin' Bear men earned an Automatic Bid to the NAIA National Championships, taking place on Friday, November 21st in Tallahassee, Florida. 

Battlin' Bear Women Take Third Overall

Hannah Geisen and Maya Pearcy led the way with All-Conference finishes on Friday, as Geisen placed eighth overall with a time of 23:06.8. Pearcy followed in 15th with a time of 23:18.4. Geisen and Pearcy both ran personal bests, as Geisen's time was the eighth fastest 6K time in program history, while Pearcy logged the 16th fastest time in program history. 

Rocky's final three finishers followed in a loose pack, as Kallyn Wilkins finished in 28th with a time of 23:44.0, Jayden Woodland finished in 31st with a time of 23:54.6, and Rylie Schoenfeld rounded out the Battlin' Bear competitors in 34th with a time of 24:09.70. 

The Battlin' Bears totaled 109 team points to place third overall. Carroll College earned the team title with 58 points, with Montana Tech following in with 65 points. 

The Rocky women, who received votes in the most recent NAIA Coaches Poll, will await the NAIA Selection Show to see if they have earned an At-Large Bid to the NAIA National Championship in Tallahassee, Florida.

All competitors finishing in the top 15 of their respective races earned 2025 All-Conference honors. Below are Rocky's 2025 All-Conference honorees.

Women's XC All-Conference
Hannah Geisen (Junior; Koblenz, Germany) - 8th Place
Maya Pearcy (Junior; Columbus Wisconsin) - 15th Place

Head Coach Mike McLean was also named the Frontier Conference Men's XC Coach of the Year, the second honor of his career. 

2025 Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference

On Tuesday, the Frontier Conference announced its Academic All-Conference honorees for 2025. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in standing and carry a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average (GPA).

The Battlin' Bear men will begin their preparations for the NAIA National Championships in two weeks, while the Rocky women will await next Tuesday's selection show to see if their season will continue.
