Rocky Football Falls to (RV) Dakota State 38-7

MADISON, S.D.- Turnovers hindered the Battlin' Bears as they dropped a 38-7 road matchup against (RV) Dakota State on Saturday.

How it Happened

The Battlin' Bear defense had early momentum, as AQ Peternal snagged an interception on Dakota State's opening possession. Rocky's offense was unable to capitalize, however, totaling just 63 yards of offense in the first half. Sa'Mar Turner helped keep the game scoreless early in the second quarter with a highlight reel one-handed interception inside the red zone.

The Trojans would break through the scoreless drought in the first half for both teams, with a trio of long completions to take a 14-0 lead into the half.

Dakota State would run away in the second half, however, outscoring the Battlin' Bears 24-7 in the second half to take a commanding win over Rocky in South Dakota. Luke Holcomb would connect with Eric Lira from 11 yards out for the lone score for the Battlin' Bears on the day.
