Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

(RV) Rocky Men’s Basketball Falls to Dickinson State 66-56

BILLINGS, Mont.- Rocky Men's Basketball split their season series with Dickinson State after a ten-point loss at home on Friday evening.

The Battlin' Bears were held to a season-low in points (56), three-pointers made (3), and three-point percentage (23.1%) in just their second loss of the season.

How It Happened

The Battlin' Bears got off to a strong start, shooting over 50% from the field over the first eight minutes of the game to jump to a 15-7 lead. The Blue Hawks would have their response, combining for an 11-2 run after a trio of three-pointers to snag the lead back with nine minutes to go in the half. Both teams would trade baskets for the remainder of the half, combining for seven lead changes throughout the first half. The Blue Hawks would end the half on an 8-2 run to secure a three-point halftime lead.

Neither team would create much separation, as a defensive battle would result in a tie game with less than nine minutes to go. An and-one from Dickinson State's Cordell Stinson would spark a 7-0 run for the Blue Hawks, a lead they would never relinquish. Despite the Battlin' Bears forcing three turnovers in the final minutes of the contest, they were unable to overcome a second-half deficit, dropping their second contest of the season.
