Rocky Men’s Soccer Battles to 2-2 Draw With Northwest University

KIRKLAND, Wash.- Rocky's road trip began with a physical battle against Northwest University, ending in a 2-2 draw on Friday afternoon.

A flurry of three second-half goals made for an exciting finish, after over 40 minutes of game time had gone by following Rocky's opening goal.

How It Happened

Lorenzo Klamler opened the scoring just four minutes into the contest, tallying his fourth goal of the season in five games. Rocky's defense did their jobs to close out the first half, holding the Eagles to just two total shots through the opening 45 minutes.

The match would be tied up just a minute into the second half, with the Eagles finding a fast equalizer.

Fynn Sweeting would give the Battlin' Bears a lead back just eight minutes later, scoring unassisted to provide Rocky with a 2-1 lead in the 54th minute.

Northwest ultimately provided the match-tying goal in the 79th minute. The Eagles were able to tally three shot attempts in the final two minutes, but Anton Wilms held strong to preserve the draw, 2-2.

Rocky outshot the Eagles 16-11 overall, including eight-to-five on shots on goal. Eight different Battlin' Bears tallied shot attempts on the afternoon, seven of which put at least one on frame.
