Rocky Men’s Soccer Cruises to 7-1 Conference Road Victory Over Evergreen State College

OLYMPIA, Wash.- Freshman David Russell scored four goals to lead Rocky's rout of Evergreen State College on Saturday afternoon.

Russell's four goals were the most in a single game by a Battlin' Bear since 2019 (Pablo Ferreira - 2019).

How It Happened

David Russell tallied the only two goals of the first half, beginning just five minutes in and following with another 15 minutes later to extend Rocky's first-half lead to 2-0.

Russell would tally the first goal of the second half, extending Rocky's lead to three by himself. The Geoducks would tally a goal in the 54th minute by way of a penalty kick, cutting their deficit to two.

A flurry of Battlin' Bear goals would follow just ten minutes later, as Rocky would score four goals in less than ten minutes of game time, as Fynn Sweeting, David Russell, Luke Tooze, and Lorenzo Klamler would all build Rocky's lead and eventually complete a dominant victory on the road.

Rocky outshot the Geoducks 33-5 in the victory, including placing 17 shots on goal. All ten starters, excluding the goalkeeper, tallied at least one shot attempt.
