Rocky Women’s Soccer Draws Against Northwest University 1-1

KIRKLAND, Wash.- Emma Lensing scored her seventh goal of the season to bring the match to a draw against Northwest University on Friday afternoon. 

Both teams had numerous offensive opportunities around the net, combining for 40 total shots, but only one goal was scored by both teams. 

How it Happened
Rocky pushed the tempo to open, totaling the first six shots of the contest. The Eagles would strike shortly afterwards, as Gracie VanAssche took advantage of a loose ball in the box to put Northwest University up 1-0 in the 31st minute.  

The equalizing goal for the Battlin' Bears would come in the second half, as Mya Maack and Emma Lensing would trade passes before Lensing would spin and fire a shot from just inside the box, finding the net and totaling her seventh goal of the season. 

Lensing's goal would be the final score in the match, with Rocky and Northwest ultimately drawing 1-1. 

The Battlin' Bears outshot the Eagles 26-14 overall in the contest, including 10-6 in shots on goal. 

Matea Vernon tallied five saves overall in the match.
