Rocky Volleyball Defeated by (RV) Carroll College in Three Sets

HELENA, Mont. - Rocky Volleyball fell in straight sets to open their conference schedule in Helena. 

How It Happened
Attack efficiency defined the first set, as the Battlin' Bears hit just -.028 with seven attack errors compared to Carroll's .364 hitting percentage with only five attack errors. After a back-and-forth start to the set with Rocky trailing 10-9, the Fighting Saints rattled off an 11-1 run to put the first set out of reach. 

Carroll continued their momentum into the second set, scoring the first ten points of the set. While the Battlin' Bears clawed back with a 5-1 response, they were unable to overcome an early deficit and fell in the second set. 

After falling behind early in the third set, the Battlin' Bears rallied behind a 13-6 run to take a two-point lead, 19-17. Both teams would trade points back-and-forth to a 22-22 tie late in the match. Carroll College would eventually secure the sweep, however, as they would take the set 25-23 and the match, 3-0. 

Kaitlyn Wood led the Battlin' Bears with seven kills (.294%), with Ella Kincaid following with six. Meredith Marsh totaled 11 assists, and Lauren Rodacker tallied 12 digs, while Gabriella Panzetta and Feline Mulder each totaled three blocks apiece. 

Overall, Carroll outhit the Battlin' Bears .289 to .053.
