Davis’ Hat Trick Leads #16 Rocky Women’s Soccer to 6-0 Shutout Win

BILLINGS, Mont. - Senior Charlize Davis expanded her CCC-leading goal total on Thursday evening, recording her first collegiate hat trick to propel #16 Rocky Women's Soccer to a 6-0 shutout win over Bushnell University.

The victory ties the program record for the longest winning streak at eight games, while the Battlin' Bears doubled their previous program record by recording their eighth consecutive shutout.

How it Happened

Charlize Davis wasted little time getting Rocky on the board, converting a feed from Zoey Slind inside the box just 42 seconds into the match. Davis turned playmaker four minutes later, setting up Mia Daskalovska, who buried it to build a 2-0 cushion before the five-minute mark.

Davis split a pair of defenders in the 39th minute, striking off a pass from Gracie Clarkson to push Rocky's lead to 3-0 at halftime. Meanwhile, the Battlin' Bear defense suffocated the Beacons, holding them to just two shot attempts in the opening half.

Mya Maack kept the momentum rolling two minutes into the second half, netting her fifth goal of the season off Slind's second assist of the match. Reese Jeffers then delivered a highlight-reel moment, striking a 30-yard free kick into the net to extend the lead. Davis capped her banner night 15 minutes later, unleashing a jaw-dropping 35-yard strike off a pass from Darby McMahill to complete her hat trick and seal the 6-0 victory.

The Battlin' Bears outshot the Beacons 15-3 on the night, holding Bushnell to just one shot on goal compared to Rocky's nine. Zoey Slind finished with a career-high two assists, the first two of her collegiate career.

Already entering the night as the CCC's leader in goals and assists, Davis brought her season tally to 16 goals. The Billings Skyview graduate is on an extraordinary tear with 10 goals over her past five matches, an eye-opening stat considering only one other player in the conference has scored double-digit goals all season.

In goal, Matea Vernon stopped the only shot on target she faced to preserve the clean sheet. Bushnell goalkeeper Gabriella Montes recorded three saves in defeat.
