Rocky Volleyball Swept By Orediggers at Home

BILLINGS, Mont. - Rocky Volleyball was unable to overcome No. 24-ranked Montana Tech on Saturday evening, falling in straight sets.

How it Happened
Offensive inefficiency plagued the Battlin' Bears in the first set, as 12 attack errors in the opening frame led to a wire-to-wire 25-19 win for Montana Tech.

Rocky responded well in the second set. Following a back-and-forth start, kills from Amelia Kisiel and Sadie Meier, along with a block from Kaitlyn Wood, gave the Battlin' Bears an 18-15 lead. Montana Tech's net defense promptly swung the momentum, as back-to-back blocks sparked seven unanswered points to flip the lead to 22-19 and pave the way to a 25-20 Oredigger win.

Montana Tech quickly grabbed control in the third set, scoring six straight points to jump out to an 11-4 lead. While the Battlin' Bears eventually cut the deficit to three following back-to-back blocks from freshman Sydney Nance, Montana Tech wrapped up the straight-set victory with a pair of kills and a service ace.

Notable Statistics
Kaitlyn Wood recorded a team-high seven kills, while Olivia Fauth and Sadie Meier added six apiece. Rylee McMillan tallied 26 assists, while Zoey Albert (14), Iris Arlint (12), and Sadie Meier (11) all finished with double-digit digs.

Overall, the Orediggers outhit the Battlin' Bears .218 to .034, as Rocky's 27 attack errors were the most in a conference match this season.

Morgan Jones recorded a match-high 13 kills (.310) along with four blocks to lead Montana Tech.
