#23 Rocky Women’s Basketball Cruises to Home Victory Over (RV) MSU-Northern

BILLINGS, Mont.- Five Battlin' Bears finished in double-figures as #23 Rocky Women's Basketball earned another home victory and a season-sweep over the Skylights. 

Rocky tied their second-highest score total of the season, shooting at least 50% from the field in all four quarters and their highest field goal percentage of the season in a commanding victory. Their win also improved their record in the Fortin Education Center to 11-0 on the season. 

How It Happened

Rocky's offense was electric in the first quarter, pouring on 27 points after shooting 66.7% from the field. Brenna Linse scored eight points in the final three minutes of the quarter, adding to a total of 13 first-quarter points, to lead Rocky to a nine-point lead at the end of the first quarter.  

The Battlin' Bears ballooned their lead to as much as 17 in the second quarter, as they continued a pace of over 50% shooting from the field. Rocky's inside presence was felt during the second quarter, scoring 14 of their 19 points in the paint, thanks to a combined 12 points from Isabelle Heggem and Lexy Burnham

When it seemed that Rocky's offense couldn't get hotter, the Battlin' Bears exploded for another 27-point quarter after halftime, sinking 11-of-13 from the field and four-of-five from three-point range, led by three third-quarter treys from Angelina Cavanaugh. Rocky ended the quarter on a 12-3 run to extend their lead to 27 points. 

While the fourth quarter was the lowest scoring output, the Batllin' Bears still shot 50% from the field, cruising to a dominant home victory and maintaining their undefeated record at home. 

Notable Statistics

Brenna Linse totaled a team-high 19 points, sinking seven of nine shots from the field, along with five rebounds. Isabelle Heggem, Paige Wasson, and Angelina Cavanaugh all tallied 15 points, while Lexy Burnham added 10 points off the bench. Heggem recorded a double-double, stuffing the stat sheet with 10 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks. Cavanaugh also sank five threes in the win. 

The Battlin' Bears shot a season-high 64.8% from the field and 47.4% from three-point range. Rocky outrebounded the Skylights 33-19, while controlling the paint with 42 points in the paint. 

Ciera Agasiva led the Skylights with 19 points in the defeat.
