Rocky Men’s Golf Finishes 15th in Loaded Field at The Battle

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz.- Taking on a field that featured ten top-25 ranked teams and 13 teams ranked in Clippd's NAIA Team Rankings, the Battlin' Bears finished in 15th place at Laughlin Ranch Golf Club.

Kristjan Burkelca led the way for the Battlin' Bears, tying for 11th place overall individually after a 52-hole total of four-over-par 220 (75, 69, 76). Burkelca was among the best of the field on par 3s, totaling a score of one-over-par, while tallying the fifth-most birdies, 11. 

Sam Norman tied for 53rd overall, shooting 14-over-par 230 (78, 76, 76), recording the highlight of the trip by securing an eagle on hole eight in his third round.  Aidan McDonagh followed, tied for 68th with a score of 19-over-par 235 (77, 78, 80), and Nathan Piers tied for 72nd overall with a score of 21-over-par 237 (79, 80, 78). Adam Hyde-Lay rounded out Rocky's competitors, tying for 87th overall with a score of 26-over-par 242 (80, 84, 78). 

The Battlin' Bears totaled a team score of 56-over-par 920 (309, 303, 308) to take 15th overall. Rocky played strong on par 4s, recording the tenth-best scoring average of the field (4.29). 

Top-ranked Keiser University earned the team title, totaling a score of 15-over-par 879 (293, 295, 291).

The 21st-ranked Battlin' Bears play their final regular-season competition of the spring on April 13th, competing in the Music City Classic at Hermitage Golf Course in Tennessee.
