Rocky Volleyball Falls in Four Sets to #19 Bellevue

BILLINGS, Mont.- Rocky Volleyball concluded their home stand with a four-set defeat to No. 19-ranked Bellevue University. 

How it Happened
Bellevue grabbed early momentum in the opening frame, building a 13-7 lead. The Battlin' Bears immediately answered with seven consecutive points to claim a 15-13 advantage, setting off a back-and-forth battle down the stretch. A clutch kill from Josie West tied the frame at 24-24, but the Bruins eventually tallied back-to-back kills to steal a 27-25 opening win.

The Battlin' Bears dominated the second set from start to finish, hitting .444 as a team and recording 14 kills. Defensively, the Battlin' Bears suffocated Bellevue's offense, holding the Bruins to a -.029 hitting percentage while forcing nine attack errors in a 25-12 blowout. The 13-point margin marked Rocky's largest set win since August 31, 2024.

Bellevue reclaimed control over the final two sets, hitting .238 and .163 while throwing down 30 combined kills to seal the four-set victory and hand Rocky the home defeat.

Notable Statistics
Sadie Meier paced the Battlin' Bears' attack with a team-high 10 kills (.259 hitting percentage), while Ella Kincaid chipped in nine kills (.280) and three blocks. Haylie Patterson delivered an efficient performance with a season-high eight kills on a stellar .636 hitting percentage. Defensively, Zoey Albert anchored the back line with a game-high 21 digs, while Kristyn Mentink recorded 23 assists.

The Battlin' Bears outhit Bellevue .184 to .164, but totaled a costly eight service errors overall. 

Bentlee Kollbaum led all players with a game-high 17 kills for Bellevue.
