Early Offensive Onslaught Powers Rocky Women’s Soccer to 4-0 Victory Over Evergreen State College

BILLINGS, Mont. - A relentless four-goal blitz in the opening 25 minutes was all the scoring Rocky Women's Soccer needed to secure its first conference victory of the season on Thursday evening. 

Molly Loughton spearheaded the attack with two early strikes, while the Battlin' Bears defense completely smothered Evergreen State, holding the Geoducks to just two total shot attempts in the commanding victory.

How it Happened
Molly Loughton opened the floodgates just five minutes into the match, breaking the deadlock off a pass from Mia Daskalovska. Daskalovska turned goalscorer four minutes later to double the lead, and Loughton struck again in the 12th minute to complete her rapid-fire brace. Grace Curnow capped off the scoring flurry in the 24th minute, burying a header to widen the margin to 4-0 with just 23:16 elapsed on the match clock.
Though the scoreline held through the remainder of the contest, Rocky dominated possession and dictated the pace until the final whistle to cruise to its first conference win and maintain an undefeated record.

Notable Statistics
Rocky suffocated the Geoducks' attack throughout the afternoon, holding Evergreen State to a single shot attempt in each half and outshooting them 15-2 overall. The persistent offensive pressure also earned Rocky nine corner kicks while conceding just one.

Molly Loughton recorded a game-high four shot attempts, three of which were on frame. Matea Vernon saved the lone shot she faced in the shutout victory. 

Izzy Widener recorded both shot attempts for the Geoducks in defeat. Goalkeeper Katie Gresham subbed in to start the second half and saved both shots she faced in relief.
