(RV) Rocky Men’s Soccer Secures Weekend Sweep After 8-1 Rout of Northwest

BILLINGS, Mont.- Six different Battlin' Bears found the scoresheet in an offensive showcase on Saturday as Rocky Men's Soccer earned a dominant 8-1 victory over Northwest University. 

In a commanding six-point weekend, the Battlin' Bears racked up 11 goals, 64 shot attempts, and 29 shots on goal, outscoring Evergreen State College and Northwest University by a combined 11-1 margin.

How it Happened
Espoir Mayele, Luke Tooze, and Ralph Jooma Jr. sparked the attack early with first-half goals, setting the tone as Rocky outshot the Eagles 13-1 in the opening frame. 

The offense kept rolling in the second half as the Battlin' Bears turned to their bench. Freshman Dustin Cullingworth recorded his first two collegiate goals, Fynn Sweeting and Manny Mendez both notched their third goals of the season, and Luke Tooze capped a stellar weekend with his second goal of the match and fourth overall during the homestand.

The Eagles found the net in the final five minutes to deny Rocky a second consecutive clean sheet, but the Battlin' Bears still cruised to a resounding 8-1 victory at home.
 
Notable Statistics
For the second straight match, Rocky controlled possession and tempo throughout, outshooting Northwest 29-3, including an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal. Rocky showed impressive depth, with 27 different players seeing action. Twelve Battlin' Bears recorded at least one shot attempt, while nine registered multiple shots.

Roland Ngoy scored Northwest's lone goal in the 86th minute, marking his second score of the season.
