Biography

2022 Season (Redshirt Junior): Appeared in all 10 games for the Battlin' Bears as a defensive back and punter. Totaled 44 tackles, including 24 solo tackles, seven tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. Also recovered a fumble and had four pass breakups. As a punter, Brusven recorded 47 punts for 1925 yards, averaging 40.9 yards per punt, ranking him fifth in the nation, with a longest punt of 62 yards. Brusven pinned 18 of his punts inside the 20 yard line. Brusven also served as the kickoff specialist, totaling 50 kickoffs for 2864 yards total, averaging 57.28 yards per kickoff, while also booting 14 touchbacks. 

Earned two Frontier Conference Special Teams Player of the Week awards during the season, first after averaging 41.43 yards per punt on seven punts in a home loss to College of Idaho, then pinning three punts inside the 20 yard line with a longest punt of 61 yards in a home loss against Montana Western.

2021 Season (Redshirt Sophomore): Appeared in nine games for the Battlin' Bears. Totaled 21 tackles, including 12 solo tackles, a tackle for loss, and a forced and recovered fumble. Brusven also grabbed an interception against Montana Western, returning it for 29 yards, while also totaling seven pass breakups on the season. As a punter, Brusven attempted 32 punts on the season for 1266 total yards, averaging 39.6 yards per punt with a career long 65 yard punt against Carroll College. Scrambled for a 25 yard fake punt at Montana Tech. Served as the kickoff specialist, with 58 kickoffs going for 3565 yards, averaging 61.5 yards per kickoff and totaling 29 touchbacks on the season. 

2020 Season (Sophomore): Appeared in all four games in the shortened spring season. Totaled 16 tackles, including 10 solo tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and a forced fumble. Also batted one pass deflection. As a punter, Brusven attempted 20 punts for 750 yards, averaging 37.5 yards per punt, pinning seven of his 20 punts inside the 20. As the kickoff specialist, Brusven kicked 16 kickoffs for 937 yards, averaging 58.6 yards per kickoff with four touchbacks on the season.

2019 Season (Freshman): Appeared in all eleven games for the Battlin' Bears,. Recorded eight total tackles, two interceptions, and two pass deflections on the defensive side of the ball. As a punter, Brusven totaled 47 punts for 1627 yards, averaging 34.6 yards per punt, booting three 50+ yard punts, including a long of 64 yards against Montana Tech. As the kickoff specialist, Brusven booting 54 kickoffs for 3132 yards, averaging 58.0 yards per kick and totaling 11 touchbacks. Also made three of his seven field goal attempts on the season, with a long of 43 yards against Dickinson State. Made nine of his 12 PATs. 

Earned Frontier Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors after kicking the game winning field goal with less than a minute left in the game in No. 23 Rocky’s 23-21 upset road win over No. 9 Dickinson State. Brusven also went 3/4 on field goals and 2/2 on PATs. 

Background: Attended Shelby High School in Shelby Montana, where he played football and was a third-place state finisher in wrestling. Studying Business Administration.
