BILLINGS, Mont. –The Rocky Mountain College football team returns to the turf at Herb Klindt Field on Saturday when they host The College of Idaho in Frontier Conference action. The game is homecoming for the Battlin' Bears and kickoff is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
All of Saturday's action will be carried live on the Rocky Athletics You Tube channel at YouTube.com/battlinbears. The game will also be broadcast live on ESPN Billings 910 AM. Kyle Riley (play-by-play), Jesse Brockschmidt (analyst) and Bob Rittierodt (sidelines) will call the action with the pregame starting at 12:30 p.m.
Rocky will head into a second straight home game with a 2-2 overall record after having their two-game winning streak snapped by No. 5 Montana Tech last Saturday. The Battlin' Bears are 2-1 in Frontier play and currently sit alone in third place. They are 1-1 at home this season.
With four games in the books, Rocky is second in the Frontier in rushing at 236.0 yards per game. That total has them 12th in the NAIA and they are seventh nationally with 944 total rushing yards. The offense ranks third in the Frontier by getting 407.0 total yards per game and scoring 32.0 points per game.
The Battlin' Bears defense is second in the conference by allowing 395.0 total yards per game to the opposition. Rocky allows 134.4 yards per game on the ground – third in the Frontier – and 29.0 points per game.
Rocky and College of Idaho have played three times since the C of I brought back football in 2014. The Battlin' Bears have won two of those matchups, including a 20-7 win last season in Caldwell. The teams have only played once in Billings, a 35-21 win by the Battlin' Bears on October 18, 2014. In the three games, Rocky has outscored the Yotes 72-66.
