CORVALLIS, Ore. –
Nolan Sherwood was announced as the 2019 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year during the conference's postseason award ceremony on Monday. Seven Battlin' Bears earned all-conference honors.
Sherwood was selected as the CCC's Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference with 14 goals. His 10 assists also ranked second in the conference. Ranked 34th in the NAIA for total goals, Sherwood is also ranked nationally as 24th in total assists, 17th in assists per game (.63), 20th in points per game (2.38), and 22nd in total points (38).
This is the second straight year that Sherwood has earned the honor after knocking in 15 goals last season.

Kristofer Wennin,
Marco Kummerle, and
Sky Swenson were among the 15 players selected first team all-conference. Sherwood previously earned the honor in 2018 and 2016,
Kummerle and Swenson ranked No. 2 (2.13) and No. 3 (1.94) in the CCC for points per game. 2019 counts as Kummerle's third straight first team all-conference selection. He also received an honorable mention selection during his freshman year in 2016. This is the first all-conference honor for Swenson.
Wennin, Rocky's goalkeeper, recorded 28 saves and allowed only 16 goals this season. He earned an honorable mention all-conference selection in 2018.
Jonah Gronmayer and
Pablo Ferreira were both selected second team all-conference while
Milo Downey earned an all-conference honorable mention.
The Battlin' Bears will play The Evergreen State College today at 11 a.m. (PT) in the quarterfinals of Cascade Conference Championships in Springfield, Oregon.
