RED LODGE, Mont. – Rocky's men's ski racing team swept all four races against Montana State University during the USCSA Grand Teton MSU.
On Saturday, the men's ski racing teams finished in first in the two Slalom races with times of 180.71 and 176.32. Esten Falksete and Sean McCormick took the top two times in both races Saturday.
Falksete finished the first race with a total time of 55.83 and the second race in 57.37. His 27.66 run counted as the fastest Saturday. McCormick finished with a total time of 58.55 in the first race and 58.64 in the second. With a combined time of 66.33, Andraz Reich-Pogladic took fifth in the first race behind Montana State's Derek Van Itailie and Eric Johnson. He improved to a total time of 60.31 in the second race to finish in third.
On Sunday after winning the initial Giant Slalom race with a total time of 218.67, Rocky's men tied the Bobcats with identical times of 236.67 in the second race. Rocky won the tiebreaker with 10 individual place points to Montana State's 12.
Sean McCormick took first with a combined time of 70:35 in the first race, but did not finish his first run in the second race. Andraz Reich-Pogladic finished in fifth in the first race. but improved to a first place finish in the second race with a total time of 72.78. Esten Falksete finished in second in both races with combined times of 72.04 and 73.52. While finishing in ninth in the first race, Liam Moya took seventh later in the day with a combined time of 90.37.
The Battlin' Bears will next compete on Feb. 16-18 at the Northern USSA Qualifier at Montana Snowbowl.
