Rocky Men’s Basketball Defeats Park University-Gilbert 95-53 in Lewiston

LEWISTON, Idaho. Nov. 4, 2022- Rocky Men's Basketball continued a successful start to the season, defeating Park University-Gilbert 95-53 in their first matchup of the Clearwater River Casino & Lodge Classic hosted by Lewis-Clark State College. 

Fighting through a bit of a slow shooting start, the Battlin' Bears still went into halftime with a 36-28 lead. Things broke wide open in the second half, as the Battlin' Bears outpaced the Buccaneers 59-25 in the second half to cruise to a 95-53 victory. 

Kael Robinson led the Battlin' Bears with 25 points and six rebounds, Jesse Owens finished with 13 points, five rebounds, five assists, and five steals, and Beau Santistevan tallied 17 points and eight rebounds. Scott Malikie also pulled down 10 rebounds in only 15 minutes played. 

"I thought we were a little stagnant on offense in the first half but our defense was solid." Coach Bill Dreikosen said. "We continued to battle in the second half and got some shots to fall."

The Battlin' Bears (4-0) will take on Lewis-Clark State College Saturday at 5:00pm (MT).
