Rocky Women’s Basketball Storms Past Valley City State 91-49

DICKINSON, N.D.- All five starting Battlin' Bears scored in double figures as Rocky soared past the Vikings of Valley City State 91-49 on Saturday.

Rocky scored over 20 points in each of the first three-quarters of Saturday's game. The Battlin' Bears got it done on both ends in the first half, forcing 15 turnovers to take a 25-point lead into the halftime break.

The Battlin' Bears continued their dominance in the third quarter, rattling off 28 points after forcing six more turnovers in the third quarter. With the Rocky starters on the bench, the Battlin' Bears extended their lead to as large as 45 in the fourth quarter as Rocky cruised to a big victory as their record remains perfect this season.

Morgan Baird led all scorers with another 20+ point performance, scoring 22 on the evening. Iliana Moran scored 12 points, while Ky Oliver and Dominique Stephens each added 11. Stephens dished six assists on the day, while Oliver swiped three steals. Gracee Lekvold also scored 10 points in the winning effort.

The Rocky women shot 48.6% (36-of-74) from the field, 36.8% (7-of-19) from three-point range, and 12-of-20 on their free throw attempts. They limited their turnovers to only nine total, the fourth game this season they've turned the ball over less than 10 times. They forced 25 Viking turnovers, the second most in a single game this season.

The Battlin' Bears (7-0) will return home for an exhibition rematch against MSU Billings on December 9th in Alterowitz Gym.
