Rocky Men’s Basketball Falls to Carroll College 89-67

HELENA, Mont.- A slow second half from the field for the Battlin' Bears, along with Carroll College shooting 60% from the field, resulted in a 89-67 defeat in Helena on Saturday evening. 

Both teams traded baskets throughout the first half, but a 12-5 run to close the first half gave the Fighting Saints a nine point lead going into the break.

The Battlin' Bears couldn't seem to find a flow offensively in the second half, while on the other end the Saints were clicking on all cylinders, quickly pulling the game out of reach and cruising to a double digit victory. In the second half, the Battlin' Bears shot 11-28 from the field, including 4-16 from three point range, while Carroll shot 19-30 from the field, including 2-5 from three point range. 

The Battlin' Bears were led by 16 points by Tayshawun Bradford, 11 points and eight rebounds from Maxim Stephens, and four points, five assists, and two steals from Cade Tyson. The Rocky men turned the ball over 12 times and only shot 26.9% (7-26) from three point range. 

The Fighting Saints were led by 21 points, four rebounds and two steals from Andrew Cook, while Jonny Hillman added 12 points, eight rebounds, and six steals. 

The Battlin' Bears (13-13, 5-9 conf.) will finish their regular season in Dillon against Montana Western next Saturday.
