Rocky Ski Has Solid Individual Showing at Big Sky to Begin the 2024-25 Season

BIG SKY, Mont.- Aniol Torres Casas earned an individual victory in his Slalom debut, with other Battlin' Bears earning top-ten finishes in Rocky Ski's debut at Big Sky this past weekend.

On the women's side, Eulalie Giraud took sixth overall on Friday with a total time of 1:45.31. Reese Harman finished 60th with a total time of 2:00.93. 

Aniol Torres Casas and Caleb Unger led the men in their Rocky debuts with top ten finishes, as Torres Casas finishing fourth overall with a total time of 1:37.88, including a pair of sub-50 second runs, while Unger finished seventh with a total time of 1:38.55, which included the second fastest run of the day on his first run, crossing the line in 47.75 seconds. Jules Clerice took 12th overall with a total time of 1:38.94 and Elio Turnes finished 17th with a total time of 1:39.92. 

Slalom Results

Eulalie Giraud again led the Rocky women with a top ten finish on the first day of the Slalom, finishing eighth with a total time of 1:40.18. Reese Harman finished 53rd with a total time of 1:56.29. 

On Sunday, Giraud finished sixth overall with a time of 1:42.32, while Harman finished 62nd with a total time of 1:58.04. 

Aniol Torres Casas took home an individual victory in the first day of the slalom, finishing with a total time of 1:37.42, almost a full second ahead of the runner-up. Torres Casas had the fastest second run of the field, finishing in 49.23 seconds. 

Caleb Unger turned in another top-ten performance, finishing seventh with a total time of 1:39.12. Elio Turnes also placed 16th with a total time of 1:40.16. 

On the final day of competition, Jules Clerice bounced back from a DNF on Saturday to take seventh with a total time of 1:39.96. Elio Turnes followed behind in 13th with a time of 1:40.94.

The Battlin' Bears will continue competition at Red Lodge Mountain on Monday in the USSA Northern Division Slalom Race.
