Senior Grace Timm to Compete in the Montana Mile Friday

BILLINGS, Mont.- Rocky XC/TF senior Grace Timm will take on some of the state's best runners in the Montana Mile to open up the Big Sky State Games in Billings on Friday. 

Timm, a senior from Laurel, Montana, finished as the runner-up in the 1,500 meters at the Frontier Conference Championship meet in Butte this past spring, crossing the line in 5:02.05. She also earned top-three finishes in the 5k and the 3k Steeplechase. Timm ran a personal best of 4:56.76 in the 1,500 at the Yellowjackets/Battlin' Bears Icebreaker Open.

A graduate of Laurel High School, Timm finished her senior season with the Locomotives with three top-four finishes at the MHSA Class A State Track & Field Meet, taking third place in the 800 and 1,600 meters, as well as a fourth-place finish in the 3,200 meters. Timm was a conference champion in the mile and the 3,000 meters, while also earning a top-15 finish at the NAIA Outdoor T/F National Championships in the 3,000 meter Steeplechase at Dickinson State her sophomore season before transferring to Rocky Mountain College. 
 
This will be Timm's second Montana Mile. 

About the Montana Mile

The 2024 Montana Mile, sponsored by Billings West End Walmart, marks the 33rd race for men and the 25th race for women. The race is one of the most anticipated events of the Big Sky State Games Opening Ceremonies and is scheduled at approximately 8:15-8:30 p.m. Friday, July 19. The Montana Mile is an invitational race featuring some of the state's fastest high school, college, and post-collegiate milers.
