9/20/2024 10:55:00 AM

BILLINGS, Mont.- Rocky Soccer will look to begin their conference schedule on a high note with road games against Carroll College and the University of Providence.

Women's Soccer Game Notes

Kicking Off Conference Play
Rocky will begin its 2024 conference schedule with a road trip to play in-state opponents Carroll College and the University of Providence. These will be the first matchups against these teams on the road since the 2021 season.

Dialing Up Pressure
The Rocky women have totaled double-digit shot attempts in two of their three first games, each of those times resulting in a win and two or more goals. Through three games this season, eight different Battlin' Bears have two or more shot attempts.

Unselfish Offense
Rocky's 1.76 assists per game ranks third in the CCC during non-conference play, as five different Battlin' Bears have contributed an assist so far this season.

Scouting the Fighting Saints
Carroll College has begun their season 2-1-2, with their lone loss coming in their most recent matchup against MSU Billings, 5-0. Sophomore goalkeeper Maria Akerman had given up just one goal this season heading into that contest and, despite a tough outing, still boasts a save percentage of .829 and leads the conference in total saves with 29. Sophomore forward Delaney Moczan has a pair of two-goal performances to lead Carroll's offense with four scored goals this season.

Scouting the Argos
Providence enters the weekend with a 2-1-1 record during non-conference play. Seven different Argos have scored goals this season and freshman goalkeeper Chloe Pajaro has saved 21 of her 27 shots faced through Providence's first four games.

Men's Soccer Game Notes

Kicking Off Conference Play
Rocky will begin its 2024 conference schedule with a road trip to play in-state opponents Carroll College and the University of Providence. These will be the first matchups against these teams on the road since the 2021 season.

Battle Tested
The Battlin' Bears had no easy matchups during their non-conference schedule, which included two matches with NCAA DII MSU Billings (one of which was an exhibition), a match against No. 2-ranked Dalton State College, and now No. 21-ranked Georgia Gwinnett. For a young 2024 squad, the experience has Rocky set up for a successful conference schedule.

Offense in Bunches
Rocky tallied 17 shot attempts in a 3-2 victory over the Yellowjackets, the most so far this season. That mark would have been the fourth most in a game a season ago.

Scouting the Fighting Saints
Carroll College enters Friday's game 1-2-1 going into conference play, most recently tying with Westcliff 0-0 in California. Junior goalie Juan Muniz-Navarette is the reigning CCC Defensive Player of the Week following a pair of shutouts to conclude the Saints' non-conference schedule. Freshman forward Alfie Snow is Carroll's leading scorer with three goals this season.

Scouting the Argos
Providence has begun its season 1-2, with its lone win coming over Dakota Wesleyan on August 24th. The Argos have played a pair of goalies so far this season, looking for an answer as they have allowed 2.67 goals per game. Graduate senior Tomeu Nebot Schmalfeld is the team's leading scorer, scoring a goal in each of the past two games.
