Rocky Ski Dominates First Day of Conference Competition at Brundage Mountain

BRUNDAGE, Idaho.- The Battlin' Bear men swept the top eight places individually, while the women added five of the top six spots as Rocky swept the team awards on day one of the conference competition in Idaho. 

The Battlin' Bears competed on Saturday on the first day of Giant Slalom action, with another day of competition on Sunday. 

Men's Results

It was the Rocky Mountain College show on the men's side on Brundage Mountain, as Rocky swept the top eight spots overall. Aniol Torres claimed individual honors, placing first with an overall time of 2:05.38, including the best run of the day at 1:00.99 on his second run. The following seven places were as follows -

The Battlin' Bears cruised to a team victory with a total time of 6:18.11 to win day one of the Giant Slalom competition. 

Women's Results

Eulalie Giraud and Synne Kvinlog led the charge for the Battlin' Bears with the top two finishes in the women's field. Giraud earned the top spot with a combined time of 2:08.35, earning the fastest run in both heats. Kvinlog followed in second place with a combined time of 2:10.66. 

Elisabeth Grimkelsrud followed in fourth place (2:15.77), Jenny Sjøtun placed fifth (2:17.29), and Klara Almquist finished sixth (2:17.43). 

Reese Harman also turned in a top-ten finish, taking ninth with a combined time of 2:19.85. 

The Battlin' Bear women also cruised to a team victory on the first day, totaling a team time of 6:34.78.

The Battlin' Bears will wrap up competition in Idaho with another day of Giant Slalom competition on Sunday morning.
