BUCKEYE, Ariz.- In a large field at the Firestorm Invitational, the Battlin' Bears look to finish strong at Verrado Golf Club with one more round to play on Wednesday. 

Fischer's Top-15 Standing Leads Rocky Women

Kadence Fischer leads the way after two rounds, tied for thirteenth overall with a total score of seven-over-par 151 (74, 77). In her first round, she carded a pair of birdies, while in round two, she totaled 13 holes of par. 

Alivia Webinger (80, 79) and Grace Metcalf (82, 77) followed, both tied for 25th overall with total scores of 15-over-par 159. Tyla Potgieter rounds out the Rocky scorers tied for 34th overall with a total score of 19-over-par 163 (81, 82), while Kirsten Smith follows tied for 36th overall with a total score of 20-over-par 164 (80, 84). 

The Battlin' Bears enter the final day with a total team score of 54-over-par 630, trailing fourth-place Oregon Tech by 18 strokes with one round to play. Rocky's women will begin teeing off at 9:30 am (MT) on Wednesday. 

Rocky's Men Tied For Sixth in Close Field

Jared Smith's consistency through two rounds leads the Battlin' Bear men, as he remains tied for 19th overall with a total score of two-over-par 146 (73, 73). Smith ranks tied for second with 30 holes of par through two rounds. Kristjan Burkelca (72, 77), Sam Norman (75, 74), and Adam Hyde-Lay (76, 73) are all tied for 33rd overall with total scores of five-over-par 149. Aidan McDonagh rounds out the Battlin' Bear competitors tied for 47th overall with a total score of eight-over-par 152 (71, 81). 

Rocky's men hold a total team score of 12-over-par 588 (291, 297), tied with Embry-Riddle (AZ). There is only an eight-stroke difference between third and sixth place overall with one round to play.
