PREVIEW: Rocky Track and Field Opens Season at the Bobcat PReview Thursday

12/3/2025 4:29:00 PM

BOZEMAN, Mont.- Rocky Track and Field will begin their indoor season on Thursday in Bozeman.

A Look Back

The 2024-25 season was a strong one for the Battlin' Bears overall. In the indoor season, Rocky qualified four individuals and one relay team in the NAIA National Championships, finishing with two individual All-Americans in graduated pole vaulters Jay Jetmore and Braden Tomlin, as well as the Battlin' Bear Distance Medley Relay team. Leading the charge is returning multi-sport athlete Charlize Davis, who qualified for the NAIA National Championships in the 60-meter hurdles, as she ran the 19th fastest mark in the NAIA last season with a time of 8.75 seconds (8.77 adj.). Also returning are DMR All-Americans Kallyn Wilkins and Maya Pearcy. Excitement builds for Indoor Track and Field, as the Frontier Conference will host its first Indoor T/F Championships in Brookings, South Dakota, in February ahead of the NAIA National Championships.

During the outdoor season, the Battlin' Bears qualified six individuals and a relay team for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships. Returning from that group is junior Maya Pearcy (800-Meters), senior Kallyn Wilkins (1,500-Meters), and junior Charlize Davis (Heptathlon). Wilkins and Pearcy earned All-American honors in the 4x800-meter relay. Both the Rocky Men's and Women's teams placed third overall at the Frontier Conference Championships a season ago.
