BOZEMAN, Mont.- Brooke Wirkkala and Ryan LaMere opened their seasons by breaking their own program records to highlight Rocky's opening meet in Bozeman.

Men's Notable Results

Ryan LaMere set a new program record in the 60-meter dash, crossing the line in 6.93 seconds. The sophomore had already recorded seven of the eight fastest times in program history during his freshman season, as his first race of the season inches him closer to the B-standard qualifying time of 6.80 seconds.

In his first collegiate meet, freshman Raynor Ranum tossed the second-best mark in program history in the shot put, finishing as the top NAIA competitor in seventh place with a mark of 15.51 meters (51 feet, 10.75 inches). Ranum, also a member of the Battlin' Bear football team, will have his sights set on the B-standard mark of 15.90 meters (52 feet, 2 inches) as the season continues.

Drifter Skillicorn recorded the fourth-best long jump mark in program history and the second-best leap of his career in indoors, finishing with a best mark of 6.62 meters (21 feet, 8.75 inches). His mark earned him a sixth-place finish overall.

Campbell Smith tied the sixth-best mark in program history in the high jump with a mark of 1.80 meters (5 feet, 10.75 inches).

Chad Lindsay tied his indoor career best in the 200-meter, finishing with a time of 23.56 seconds, the tenth-best time in program history.

Women's Notable Results

Brooke Wirkkala began her senior season strong, breaking her own program record in both the high jump and long jump. Her final mark of 1.65 meters (5 feet, 5 inches) in the high jump earned her second place overall, while her mark of 5.55 meters (18 feet, 2.5 inches) in the long jump slotted her fourth overall. Wirkkala seeks her first trip to the NAIA National Championships and has positioned herself nicely, as she came just 0.01 meters (0.25 inches) away from the B-Standard mark in the high jump and 0.06 meters (2.5 inches) away from the B-Standard mark in the long jump. Charlize Davis also recorded a top-ten effort in program history in the long jump, finishing with a final mark of 5.30 meters (17 feet, 4.75 inches), the eighth-best mark in Rocky Indoor T/F history.

Charlize Davis finished in the top ten in the 60-meter hurdles, placing ninth among NCAA DI opponents. Her finish of 9.08 seconds in the 60m HH marks the eighth-best in program history, an event the junior already owns all 10 of the fastest marks.

Alexandra David recorded personal bests in the shot put and the weight throw, tossing 9.53 meters (31 feet, 3.25 inches) in the shot put and 9.87 meters (32 feet, 4.75 inches) in the weight throw.
