Program Records Fall in Rocky Track and Field’s Final Meet Before Next Week’s Frontier Conference Championships

MISSOULA, Mont.- Five Battlin' Bears set new program records to highlight Rocky's efforts at the Montana Open in Missoula on Saturday.

Men's Notable Results

Logan Hughes broke his own program record for the third time this season, recording the 24th-best hammer throw mark in the NAIA this season at 54.23 meters (177-11), coming less than half a meter shy of a 'B' Standard mark. 

Ryan LaMere bested his own program record in the 100 meters, finishing in 10.89 seconds to take fourth overall. 

Taycen Genatone also bested the program record for the second time this season, placing fourth overall in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.66 seconds. 

Freshman Jack Phelps tied for the third fastest time in program history in the 400 meters with a time of 50.24 seconds to place seventh overall. 

Raynor Ranum tossed the fourth-best discus mark in program history to place sixth overall, recording a mark of 44.97 meters (147-06). 

The NAIA-leading pole vaulter Keenan Morris cleared 4.82 meters (15-09.75) to place fourth overall. His clearance, while not a personal best, still ranked fifth in program history. 

Campbell Smith cleared 1.89 meters in the high jump to take sixth overall, recording the fifth-best mark in program history. 

Travis Caton recorded the tenth-best javelin toss in program history of 44.74 meters (146-09). 

Women's Notable Results

Charlize Davis recorded personal bests in both the 100 meters and 100-meter hurdles. In the 100-meter, Davis finished ninth with a time of 12.52 seconds, the fifth-best time in program history, while in the 100-meter hurdles she placed second with a time of 14.44 seconds, coming less than 0.3 seconds away from a 'B' Standard time and breaking her own program record. 

Freshman Hadley Jones set the javelin program record for the third time this season, coming less than a meter away from a 'B' Standard mark, tossing 40.00 meters (131-02) to take seventh overall. Her toss ranks 32nd in the NAIA this season and is the seventh-best mark by a freshman this season. 

Kallyn Wilkins set a season-best in the 800 meters, placing ninth with a time of 2:27.85. 

Hannah Christman placed eighth in the pole vault, clearing 2.66 meters (8-08.75).

Rocky Track and Field's attention now turns to the Frontier Conference Championships, hosted by Dickinson State beginning next Saturday, May 2nd.
