Rocky Ski Dominates Slalom Competition to Wrap Up Excellent Weekend at USCSA Regional Championships

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo.- Led by individual victories from Fredrik Straume and Eulalie Giraud, Rocky Ski dominated the slalom competition on their way to a pair of team victories. 

Men's Slalom Results

Fredrik Straume secured his second individual victory in as many days, finishing with a combined time of 1:17.10. Jules Clerice followed behind him in second place with a time of 1:17.27. Three other Battlin' Bears turned in top-ten finishes, including Maj Vorsic (5th; 1:20.75), Elio Turnes (6th; 1:21.69), and Ashton Fretwell (8th; 1:22.99). Rounding out the Battlin' Bear finishers included Austin Johnson (38th; 1:34.60) and Oliver Sapak (58th; 1:43.74). 

The Rocky men claimed a team victory with a combined time of 3:55.12. 

Women's Slalom Results

The Rocky women secured a podium sweep, placing four in the top five overall. Eulalie Giraud secured her second individual title of the weekend with a combined time of 1:19.49. Also securing top-five finishes were Elisabeth Grimkelsrud (2nd; 1:20.57), Synne Kvinlog (3rd; 1:21.31), and Franziska Bonn (5th; 1:24.54). Klara Almqvist (8th; 1:25.58) and Jenny Sjotun (10th; 1:26.31) also finished inside the top ten overall.

Sara Akerstrom (24th; 1:30.74)
Malia Grantor (25th; 1:30.77)
Cora Moriarty (58th; 1:50.24)

The Battlin' Bears cruised to a top-team finish, earning first place with a total time of 4:01.37.

The Rocky men and women will turn their attention to the USCSA National Championships, held in Mount Bachelor, Oregon, beginning Sunday, March 9th.
