Rocky 4x800-Meter Relay Earns A-Standard Qualifying Time and Program Record to Lead the Battlin’ Bears at the Yellowjacket Open

3/27/2025 4:51:00 PM

BILLINGS, Mont.- Tyne Stokes, Kallyn Wilkins, Maya Pearcy, and Grace Timm combined to run the second-best 4x800-meter time in the NAIA this season and secured their trip to the NAIA National Championships.

The 4x800-meter relay team finished with a time of 9:16.34, hitting the A-Standard mark (9:17.00) and surpassing the school record set a season ago, which also featured Timm, Wilkins, and Pearcy. The time ranks second in the NAIA this season as the Battlin' Bears become just the second relay team to run a qualifying time in the 4x800.

Jay Jetmore matched his B-Standard mark from last week, clearing 4.80 meters to win the event. Scott Hunsaker (4.35 meters) and Garrett Meier (4.05 meters) also cleared season bests.

Hannah Christman lept a new personal best of 3.20 meters, the 12th best mark in the NAIA this season, to place second overall in the women's pole vault.

Baylee Young ran a personal best of 13.07 seconds in the 100 meters to place 11th overall. Garrett Sedlock finished third overall in the 5,000 meters with a time of 19:02.00.
