Rocky Track and Field Qualifies Seven Individuals; Two Relay Teams for the NAIA Indoor T/F National Championships

BILLINGS, Mont.- The Rocky Track and Field team qualified seven individuals and two relay teams for next weekend's NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Gainesville, Florida. 

Below are Rocky's qualifiers for this season's NAIA National Championships: 

Charlize Davis - 60 Meter Hurdles

Charlize Davis, a junior from Billings, Montana, qualified for her third consecutive Indoor National Championships in as many seasons. The Frontier Conference Champion in the 60-meter hurdles earned a qualifying time of 8.71 seconds at the Winter Series Meet No. 2 earlier this season. Davis is tied for the 11th-best time in the NAIA this season. 

The 60-meter hurdles prelims will take place at 10:30 am (MT) on Friday, March 6th, with the finals scheduled for Saturday, March 7th at 10:45 am (MT). 

Logan Hughes - Weight Throw

Logan Hughes, a junior from Billings, Montana, is another Battlin' Bear making his first career appearance at the NAIA National Championships. Hughes broke the program record and earned a 'B' Standard mark after a toss of 17.59 meters (57 feet, 8.5 inches) at the U-Mary Winter Classic. His mark ranks 29th in the NAIA this season.  

The men's weight throw is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm (MT) on Friday, March 6th. 

Keenan Morris - Pole Vault

Keenan Morris, a freshman from Billings, Montana, makes his first career appearance at the NAIA National Championships to open his freshman campaign. Morris cleared a 'B' Standard mark of 4.75 meters (15 feet, 7 inches) at the Carignan Classic in Bozeman. His mark is tied for 14th best in the NAIA this season, as Morris was an All-Conference performer at the Frontier Conference Championships this season. 

The men's pole vault is scheduled to take place starting at 11:15 am (MT) on Saturday, March 7th. 

Maya Pearcy - 800 Meters

Maya Pearcy, a junior from Columbus, Wisconsin, qualifies for the NAIA National Championships for the second time individually in her career, and the fourth time overall. Pearcy recorded an 'A' Standard mark and a new program record in the 800-meters, ranking third in the NAIA this season in the 800-meters with a time of 2:10.74, winning the Frontier Conference title. 

The women's 800-meter prelims are scheduled for 1:15 pm (MT) on Friday, March 6th. The finals are scheduled for Saturday, March 7th at 12:20 pm (MT). 

Raynor Ranum - Shotput

Raynor Ranum, a freshman from Gillette, Wyoming, earned his first career qualifying mark and became the program record holder during his first season of competition. The dual-sport athlete at RMC recorded a 'B' Standard mark of 16.19 meters (53 feet, 1.5 inches) at the Winter Series Meet No. 1. His mark ranks 22nd in the NAIA this season. 

The men's shotput is scheduled to begin at 12:30 pm (MT) on Saturday, March 7th. 

John Spinti - 5,000 Meters

John Spinti, a sophomore from Great Falls, Montana, makes his first appearance at the NAIA Track & Field National Championships. The 2025 Cross Country All-American continues to have a breakout sophomore season, recording an 'A' Standard and program record in the 5,000-meters with a time of 14:24.63. His time ranks fifth in the NAIA this season and third among the entered athletes in the 5k. 

The 5,000-meter prelims are scheduled to begin at 12:00 pm (MT) on Thursday, March 5th, and the finals are scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 7th at 2:20 pm (MT).
 
Brooke Wirkkala - High Jump

Brooke Wirkkala, a senior from Castle Rock, Washington, will make her first career appearance at the NAIA National Championships, competing in the high jump. She leaped a 'B' Standard qualifying mark of 1.66 meters (5 feet, 5.25 inches) at the Winter Series Meet No. 1 earlier this season. The program record holder for the Battlin' Bears in both the high jump and long jump enters tied for the 13th-best mark in the NAIA this season. 

The women's high jump is scheduled to begin on Saturday, March 7th at 9:30 am (MT). 

Women's Distance Medley Relay Team

The Battlin' Bear Distance Medley Relay Team of Maya Pearcy, Rylie Schoenfeld, Kallyn Wilkins, and Jayden Woodland earned their way to the NAIA National Championships thanks to a 'B' Standard time of 12:13.12, the ninth-best time in the NAIA this season. Wilkins and Pearcy both were All-Americans in the event a season ago, when the Battlin' Bears took fourth overall. 

The Women's Distance Medley Relay prelims will take place on Thursday, March 5th at 2:25 pm (MT), with the finals scheduled for Saturday, March 7th at 2:40 pm (MT). 

Men's Distance Medley Relay Team

The Rocky Men's Distance Medley Relay Team of Caleb Tomac, Drifter Skillicorn, Zachary Zwiesler, and Justin Glass earned a 'B' Standard time of 10:07.08 at the Winter Series Meet No. 1 earlier this season. Rocky recorded the 14th fastest time in the NAIA this season. 

The Men's Distance Medley Relay prelims will take place on Thursday, March 5th at 3:45 pm (MT), with the finals scheduled for Saturday, March 7th at 3:00 pm (MT).
