Spinti Wins 5,000-Meter Title to Highlight Opening Day of the Frontier Conference Indoor T/F Championship

BROOKINGS, S.D.- John Spinti cruised to a conference title in the 5,000 meters, while Justin Glass followed in second, and the Rocky Women's 4x800-Meter Relay team earned All-Conference honors to highlight the first day in Brookings. 

Men's Notable Results

John Spinti earned a dominant victory in the men's 5,000 meters, crossing the finish line in 14:56.74. Teammate Justin Glass earned All-Conference honors with a runner-up finish in 15:04.76. 

Taycen Genatone advanced to the 60-meter hurdles finals following a 5th-place finish in the prelims. He will compete in the finals at 11:30 am (MT) on Sunday. 

Ryan LaMere advanced to the 60-meter dash finals on Sunday, taking seventh place in the prelims with a time of 7.08 seconds. He will compete again in the finals starting at 11:50 am (MT). 

Logan Hughes took sixth place in the men's weight throw with a mark of 17.24 meters

With six of 19 total events scored following the first day, Rocky sits in sixth place overall with a team score of 23. 

Women's Notable Results

Charlize Davis earned the top time in the 60-meter hurdles prelims, dashing to a time of 8.83 seconds, advancing to Sunday's finals at 11:30 am (MT). Davis also advanced to the 60-meter dash finals with the seventh-best time at 7.95 seconds. The finals will be taking place at 11:50 am (MT). 

The Rocky Women's 4x800-meter relay team of Maya Pearcy, Jayden Woodland, Kallyn Wilkins, and Rylie Schoenfeld took second place overall, earning all-conference honors. 

Brooke Wirkkala took sixth place in the long jump, leaping 5.39 meters (17 feet, 8.25 inches). Charlize Davis followed in eighth with a mark of 5.26 meters (17 feet, 3.25 inches). 

With seven of 19 events scored following day one, the Battlin' Bear women sit in sixth place overall with 12 team points.
