King Sets Program Record to Take 9th; Caton Takes 13th in Multis Debut at the Frontier Conference Decathlon Championships in Dickinson

DICKINSON, N.D.- Sophomore Abram King set a new program record in the Decathlon to take ninth, while freshman Travis Caton finished 13th in his multis debut at the Frontier Conference Multis Championships held at the Blue Hawk Games in Dickinson. 

Sophomore Abram King earned a new program record, totaling 5,386 points on the weekend to place ninth overall. His top finishes included a third-place effort in the discus (35.99m), fifth place in the shot put (11.61m), eighth place and personal best in the pole vault (3.90m), and a ninth-place finish in the 400 meters (55.31). His finish ranks inside the top 50 in the NAIA this season. 

Travis Caton, a freshman from Laurel, Montana, made his debut in the Decathlon in Dickinson, finishing 13th overall after totaling 4,982 points. His highlights for the weekend included a fifth-place finish and personal best in the pole vault (4.20m), a personal best and the fifth-best mark in program history in the javelin to take sixth place (48.81m), and a ninth-place time in the 1,500 meters (5:31.09). His finish in the decathlon ranks sixth-best in program history.
